Under-18s coach Gary Brown has every confidence his squad will give as good as they get when they meet neighbours Bayswater City in this weekend’s semi-finals. Inglewood United’s youngsters ended the home and away series in fourth spot but found little joy in either game with Bayswater, who claimed the spoils on both occasions.
Brown is looking forward to the challenge of playing Bayswater again, having pushed them very hard in a narrow 3-2 loss only a fortnight ago. “The boys are very technically competent and we’ve got a very good balance between attack and defence,” he said. “We were the second highest scoring team in the league and our defensive record was also one of the best.”
“The players have worked very hard to improve themselves individually and as a team this year. They have fun at training, but come match day they push each other to play at their best. It’s been great to see individual players significantly improve different aspects of their game, and also to see the way we’ve continued to improve as a team.”
The Under-18 Development squad is Matthew Eyayu, Paul Grabic, Negasi Haile, Thomas Kidane, Zachary MacGregor, Valton Mamudi, Jared Money, Alexander Motroni, Liam O’Brien, Omer Ozdemir, Abbas Rasoli, Peter Ravi, Jacob Surin, Eyasu Tesfaye and Anastasios Tsingoida. The team officials are Gary Brown (coach) and Zac Grabic (manager).
Edinburgh Oval in Bentley is the venue for the Under-18s Division Two semi-final between Inglewood and Bayswater on Sunday, kick-off is at 9:00am.
