Classy midfielder Matthew Ntoumenopoulos is determined to finish his first winter with Inglewood United on a high. With three National Premier Leagues games remaining, Inglewood sit at the top of the ladder with a slender one-point advantage over Perth SC and Bayswater City, who jointly occupy second place.
Ntoumenopoulos, who will take his place in the Inglewood line-up on Saturday against Cockburn City, insists he and his teammates will fight to ensure everything Inglewood have worked hard for this season does not go unrewarded. “We have the ability, experience and camaraderie to finish this season off well,” the 21-year old said.
“One of the foremost reasons we are currently sitting in first place is the abundance of teamwork and the intense focus we bring to game day each week. During the season we have built a lot of chemistry and belief within the team which has contributed to our success and show to the league that we are a very difficult team to beat.”
“Going into every match, (coach) Andy Keogh gives clear and precise objectives and everybody understands their roles and responsibilities. There is a really positive vibe around the club with everyone working for one another. With only three games to go we intend to keep the pedal down and show up to each game, just as we have done all season.”
