Midfielder Brian Farrell is not happy with how the first fortnight of the National Premier Leagues has gone for his team. Inglewood United have made a far from ideal start to the home and away series with successive draws, against Stirling Lions and Subiaco AFC, leaving them four points adrift of the competition leaders.
But Farrell is confident Inglewood will turn that around soon. “To have only two points is a disappointment,” admitted Farrell ahead of this evening’s clash with joint NPL leaders Cockburn City. “We have set our goals for the season and to get off to a slow start isn’t ideal but we will be working hard to rectify it.”
“We know we have quality throughout the squad but we have so far fallen short of what is expected of us. We have shown good heart and character to get back into both games after conceding the first goal, but on the whole as a squad we are not happy that we’ve not put a full 90 mins together yet.”
“For us to get the results we want we will have to tighten our performances, both individually and collectively as a team. We have worked hard at training during the week and are approaching tonight’s game with Cockburn as an opportunity to show our abilities and kick start our season.”
