Inglewood United’s winning run has been brought to a crashing halt with Joondalup United triumphing 3-1 this evening at Doyle Reserve. Alex Salmon fourth goal in four games was of little consolation as Inglewood surrendered to an opponent that had a solitary point from their previous eleven games.
“I’m not happy with the performance,” coach Andy Keogh told nplwa.com.au following the game. They haven’t won a game all year and we’re the first team to lose to them, it’s not good enough … We need to do what we have done the previous five games and not what we did tonight again.”
Joondalup came out firing to take the lead after 14 minutes through Callum Stocks’ near post header at a corner. With half-time nearing Alex Salmon punished James Bodeset’s error by rounding the goalkeeper and slotting in the equaliser from a narrowing angle.
Sam Wynne restored the hosts lead midway through the second half by dancing his way past a trio of defenders before finishing into Alex Dunn’s net. Joondalup’s first win of the season was secured in the 85th minute when Alex Wild found the target from a difficult angle
