FARRELL CONCERNED HARD WORK HAS BEEN UNDONE

2018_04_07_Inglewood_vs_Joondalup_9327Midfielder Brian Farrell expects it to be a long, tough week on the training track as Inglewood United looks to bounce back from a disappointing weekend.   Inglewood became the first team to be beaten by Joondalup United this year when the National Premier Leagues cellar-dwellers came out on top 3-1 on Saturday evening.

The loss came at the end of a busy eight-day period in which season best performances against high-flying Perth Glory and Perth SC were rewarded with three league points.   “We feel like we’ve undone some of the hard work we had put in during our previous couple of games,” Farrell commented of the loss to Joondalup.

“Everybody is disappointed with the performance we put in.   There are no excuses for how we played on Saturday, after a very positive week leading into the game we just didn’t show up.   Now we’ve got to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and be ready to go again this weekend.”

“(Coach) Andy (Keogh) has already had us working on some aspects that let us down on the weekend and I’m sure that will continue on Thursday.   We’ve re-focused for Saturday’s game with Balcatta as every three points from now on in is going to be vital as we aim to catch the teams ahead of us on the ladder.”
