English midfielder Ellis Healing says his team will concentrate on their own performance and not that of near-neighbours Bayswater City when they meet this weekend. Inglewood United enters round seventeen of the National Premier Leagues in fifth spot and eager to close the gap on leaders Bayswater.
Healing recognises it will be difficult going against Bayswater, but he knows his side have plenty of strengths of their own. “The feeling is good within the player group at the moment,” Healing said. “We’ve put together a good runs of results and are playing some nice football at the moment.”
“Bayswater aren’t top of the league for nothing but, to be honest, we are focusing on our strengths. We know what we do well and so it’s about us turning up and making a good start to the game. There’s a good rivalry between Bayswater and us, sometimes it gets a bit heated and that adds a bit of extra spice to the game.”
“Getting the three points is absolutely vital for us on Sunday as our goal is to win the league. For that to happen we need to keep our run of good form going and close the gap between Bayswater and us. If everyone does their jobs and we play how I know we can, then the result will take care of itself.”
