Former Inglewood United junior Jacob Italiano has been selected in Australia’s Under-18 squad for the upcoming SBS Cup International Youth Tournament in Japan.   The four-day event will see coach Ante Milicic’s team play Paraguay (16 August), Japan (17 August) and Shizuoka Under-18s (19 August) in preparation for the AFC Under-19 Championship later this year.

Italiano, 16, is currently contracted to A-League club Perth Glory.   He enjoyed a breakthrough 2017/18 national league campaign, making 16 appearances and providing plenty of attacking flair on the left wing.   Italiano’s on-field exploits were rewarded in December with a multi-year deal at German club Borussia Monchengladbach, who he will join in July 2019.
