Ash Rosindale celebrated his return to the starting eleven by laying the foundations for this afternoon’s 7-1 demolition of Joondalup United at Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium. Two goals in the opening half hour from Rosindale set the scene before Kenny Keogh, Jamie Murphy and a second half Alex Salmon hat-trick completed the route.
The win moves Inglewood back into the top four heading into the final round of the National Premier Leagues regular season. “We’ve got a good squad and we’re ticking along nicely, so hopefully we can finish the season off strongly next week,” said coach Andy Keogh, whose team travels to fourth-from-bottom Balcatta next Saturday.
It took all of 10 minutes for Rosindale to open the scoring with a low shot that slipped that through the gloves of James Bosdet. Inglewood posted a second goal just before the half hour, Rosindale lashing into the roof of the net after Joondalup were caught ball-watching as Ellis Healing’s corner went to feet.
Keogh blasted past Bosdet from 14-metres following some tidy movement that saw the ball move from left to right via Murphy and Rosindale. And two minutes later Brian Woodall played into the path of an unmarked Murphy, who bagged his first goal for Inglewood with a crisp diagonal shot.
Salmon announced his arrival within six minutes of coming off the bench, driving into the top corner from 20-metres after combining with Healing. Woodall’s precision pull-back from the right was met by a powerful strike from 10-metres by Salmon for his second goal of the afternoon.
Elliot Tattersall grabbed the visitors a consolation on 73 minutes with a low effort that found the gap between Alex Dunn and upright. But Joondalup’s joy was short-lived as Salmon completed his hat-trick by punishing a defensive mix-up after Inglewood went straight back into attack from the restart.
