DUNN QUIETLY CONFIDENT AHEAD OF ROCKINGHAM CLASH

2018_08_11_Perth_vs_Inglewood_2043The importance of this weekend’s clash with Rockingham City is not lost on goalkeeper Alex Dunn.   Back-to-back draw hasn’t been how Inglewood United intended to begin their Night Series and to now progress beyond the group stage of the tournament they must get the better of Rockingham on Saturday night.

That’s not going to be an easy task with Rockingham undefeated at the top of Pool 1 and coming off an emphatic 2-0 win over Perth SC.   Inglewood are placed third in the group, four points adrift of Rockingham and one behind Perth, and Dunn knows they have much to do in their remaining three games.

“Two draws is not ideal as we all play to win, whether it’s pre-season or not,” Dunn commented.   “We haven’t got the results we wanted but we still have three games to compete in and as long as we have a mathematical chance of qualifying for the play-offs then that will continue to be our target.”

“There is no doubt Rockingham will be a tough game, they knocked off Perth last week and will be full of confidence, and rightly so.   As long as we stick to the game plan (coach) Trim (Morgan) implements it will give us the best chance of collecting all three points and keep ourselves in the frame for the semi-finals.”
