EXPERIMENT CONTINUES IN PRE-SEASON SWANSONG

Inglewood United’s Night Series campaign has come to a close with an experimental line-up surrendering 2-0 to ECU Joondalup this evening at Litis Stadium.   The result may not have been what Michael Garcia was after but the Inglewood boss will be far from disheartened after getting a good look at several fringe players and trialists in a competitive setting.

Prior to the Night Series Garcia vowed to lay the foundations for the coming National Premier Leagues season, which commences later this month.   The former Perth Glory attacker has achieved that, and at the same time given himself plenty of food for thought by featuring two dozen players across five games as he tinkered with line-ups and formations.

A flat first half against Joondalup was punished by goals at either end of the period to Danny Dixon and Tommy Amphlett.   Abdul Sesay stung the gloves of Jamie Serra as Inglewood came into the game more after the turnaround.   Garcia’s men continued to prod and probe their opponents’ defences for openings, albeit without success, before the referee brought proceedings to an end.
