MAMUDI COMMITS TO INGLEWOOD

Mamudi enjoyed a stellar season with Inglewood, where his talent to create as well as finish chances were vital to the Under-16s being crowned league Champions.

It’s not surprisingly, then, that the 15-year old attacker has been sounded out by a number of NPL clubs regarding his plans for 2016. However, Mamudi has made clear there is only one place he wants to be at when next season rolls around. “Inglewood is where I want to play my football,” he said. “We have great coaches that I believe will get the best out of myself.”

“I’ve been at Inglewood for two years and I’ve loved every second of it. From the coaching staff, the training facilities, the atmosphere on match day, everything is done so professionally. So to think a club like that wants me, and that they’ve put their trust in me, makes me feel really special. I’m thrilled to be continuing my development at Inglewood.”

Mamudi believes the extra-curricular activities offered by Inglewood, specifically the annual youth team tour of Spain, gives the club an important edge over their rivals. “Spain really was an amazing experience,” he said. “It was a totally different atmosphere all together. The quality and intensity of the football in Spain made all the players push ourselves that little bit more.”

“Programs like the Spain tour and the Inglewood Football Institute make it difficult for other clubs to compete. What we as players got out of ten days in Spain, playing and training at Real Valladolid, cannot be taught. It showed us where football can take us if we want it enough. Spain really was the experience of a lifetime.”

Mamudi will draw upon those experiences as he charts his own football adventure. “My goal right now is to be playing first team in the next two years,” he said. “Next year I want to do really well in the 18s and, hopefully, play a few games in the first team to see how it is in terms of physicality, movement, pace and so on.”

“I know I’ll have to work hard to get to that level, but I’m prepared to do that to prove myself. Inglewood have given me a great opportunity and I don’t want to let the club, my family or myself down. One day I want to make the starting eleven and I’d love nothing more than for that to be with Inglewood.”
