English striker Ashley Rosindale has revealed his decision to join Inglewood United was made easier knowing that his new teammates were also some of his best friends.   Rosindale became the seventh and most recent addition to the playing roster late last week by agreeing terms for the coming National Premier Leagues season.

“I’m excited to be joining Inglewood,” 29-year old Rosindale said.   “A few of my close friends have recently signed for the club and playing in a team with them was too much of a good opportunity to turn down.   Inglewood has shown this summer how serious they are about achieving some success next year and I want to be a part of it.”

“(Coach) Michael Garcia told me he wanted a striker who could score goals, and I felt I could fit really well into his plans for 2016.   Hopefully, I can assist the team in creating and scoring a few more goals over the season and use my experience and leadership to help support and develop some of the younger players at the club.”

Rosindale got his start at Bradford City, spending seven years in the club’s youth system before joining Lock Haven University.   A successful four-year spell in the United States college system began with Rosindale picking up the Rookie of the Year award and included three successive All-Northeast Region team selections along with All-American honours in his final year.

On moving to Western Australia, Rosindale played a year with Stirling Lions before switching to Balcatta.   His talent for finding the back of the net propelled that club to the top of Division One (2009) and the Premier League (2011), and were recognised with back-to-back Player of the Year awards (2009, 2010) along with State team honours(2012).   He played the last two seasons with Perth SC.

After being restricted to just eight appearances last year by a foot injury, Rosindale is setting his targets modestly for the coming season.   “My main goal is to get fit and stay injury-free,” he said.   “Beyond that, I want to make Inglewood more of a threat in the final third of the pitch and I would love to see us break into the top four.”
