Ashley Rosindale scored twice off the bench but it wasn’t enough to prevent Inglewood United from exiting the Night Series at the group stage. Rosindale’s brace provided little consolation as a mobile Perth Glory outfit made the most of their chances to claim a 5-2 victory from this evening’s twilight game at Inglewood Stadium.
A tight first half produced very few genuine goalscoring opportunities. Kenny Keogh’s attempt on goal was blocked by goalkeeper JordanThurtell, who was relieved when Mark Pritchard headed straight at him. With half-time approaching Nic Talimdzioski turned the game on its head, punishing a couple of defensive lapses by netting twice at close-range.
Glory strengthened their hold over proceedings after the interval with Sam McKearnan and Hagi Gligor finding the net. Rosindale gave the home team hope of a late comeback when his angled shot ricocheted in off a defender. That revival continued in the minutes that followed, Brian Woodall and John Migas forcing saves from Thurtell.
The comeback gathered further momentum when Rosindale capitalised on a ball played over the defence by tapping in from a couple of metres. But the result was put beyond Inglewood a few minutes later when Joe Knowles tucked into the net on the end of a swift counterattack led by Talimdzioski.
