WOODALL RELISHING DERBY DAY CHALLENGE

2016_04_16_Inglewood_v_Cockburn_7910Former Dagenham and Redbridge finisher Brian Woodall is determined to mark the special occasion of a derby showdown with Bayswater City by finding the back of the net for Inglewood United.   Woodall has fond memories of his two previous meetings with our nearest neighbour having scored in both the Night Series and National Premier Leagues wins earlier this year.

Woodall is hopeful of continuing that scoring run and orchestrating another three points when joint NPL leaders Inglewood and Bayswater go head-to-head at Inglewood Stadium this weekend.   “As a striker my job is to score goals and I have to make sure that when chances come my way on Saturday that I make the most of them,” 28-year old Woodall said.

“It’s a very important game for the club and the league – it’s one verses two and games don’t come much bigger than that.   I’d like to score in every game I play but it doesn’t work like that, although I do seem to score in big games.   But to be honest, whether I score or not on Saturday doesn’t matter, what is important is we get the three points.”

Inglewood heads into the fifteenth round of the league in a positive frame of mind following successive wins over Balcatta and Perth Glory.   “We’re back in winning ways and have a full squad available with players coming back from injury and suspension,” commented Woodall.   “Bayswater have quality throughout their team so I expect it will be a close and intense game.”

“There are only eight rounds left in the season and every game is a final for us.   We have a great squad, great coaching and support staff and a great club.   We’ve worked hard to this year to get to where we are, which is the top of the ladder, and will be doing everything to stay there and create history for Inglewood.”
