Inglewood United is pleased to have been selected to host this month’s Heritage Cup clash between the Western Australia State team and A-League side Perth Glory. The game, to be played at Inglewood Stadium on Wednesday 17 August, is part of celebrations for the 120th year of league football in Western Australia.
“I am delighted that the State team and Glory are coming to Inglewood,” said club president Ces Colli. “The Heritage Cup is a fantastic occasion for football in this State and one all West Australian’s to get excited about. It will undoubtedly stand out as one of the highlights of the 2016 football calendar.”
Western Australia’s first game was against a visiting England Cricket XI in 1902, while its initial encounter against Glory arrived in 1996. Since then the State and Glory have met on twelve occasions with the national league side registering ten wins to Western Australia’s two.
Entry to the Heritage Cup is $15 with Glory members entitled to a $5 discount on presenting their 2016/17 membership card. Registered Football West players will also receive a $5 discount by quoting their club name at the gate.
