Inglewood United made it back-to-back wins with a gritty 4-2 success over Balcatta on a wet afternoon at Grindleford Reserve.   Brian Woodall took his haul to three goals in two games with a decisive double either side of Mark Pritchard’s precision free-kick and Kenny Keogh’s late sealer.

A soggy playing surface and constant drizzle didn’t prevent Balcatta from opening their account after only a few minutes through Zelphy Nazary.   Parity was restored soon enough, Mark Pritchard steering a dead ball into the bottom corner following a foul on Keogh just outside the penalty area.

Woodall put the visitors in front just before the half-hour with a sweet strike from the top of the area after shrugging off an opponent’s challenge.   But with half-time on the horizon Cameron Teece produced an equaliser from nowhere, the attacker firing beyond the reach of Dunn from 22-metres.

The second half was given a crackerjack start by Woodall, who tapped in from close-range after Calum O’Connell’s low centre somehow squirmed between Davies and Kieron Stallard.   Inglewood was now in the ascendancy and in the minutes that followed Ashley Rosindale then Woodall went close to increasing the difference.

As the clock ticked down Inglewood stepped up the tempo.   Woodall stung the keeper’s gloves, Scott Blackmore was denied by a desperate goalline clearance and O’Connell screwed wide of the target.   That persistence paid off when Keogh finished tidily after latching onto Blackmore’s long ball down the middle of the park.
