BAYSWATER CITY 2 INGLEWOOD UNITED 1

2018_03_17_Bayswater_vs_Inglewood_8660Inglewood United were left to ponder what might have been after Bayswater City claimed a 2-1 victory from this afternoon’s National Premier Leagues encounter at Frank Drago Reserve.   Ash Rosindale had Inglewood ahead early only for that to sour soon after when the striker was issued his marching orders.

Bayswater made the most of their numerical advantage by scoring twice at the start of the second half.   However, the outcome could have been very different had the ten men of Inglewood been able to capitalise on a host of late chances to add to their own tally.

Inglewood edged in front with the very first play, Rosindale glancing a header past goalkeeper Devon Spence after David Cyrus nodded Ellis Healing’s deep corner into the goalmouth.   Rosindale’s next involvement – a tackle from behind on Todd Howarth – drew a straight red card from referee Michal Jasinski.

Goalkeeper Alex Dunn kept the visitors in the game with a couple of stunning saves which left Paul McCarthy and Gian Albano frustrated.   Bayswater then suffered a setback with Colombian marksman Gustavo Giron-Marulanda stretchered from the ground with a serious knee injury.

It took just two second half minutes for Bayswater to draw level, Jason Mirco’s clipped delivery presenting Luka Ninkovic with the simplest of close-range conversions.   And it wasn’t long after that Bayswater hit the front through Jason Mirco, who headed in Howarth’s well-flighted dead ball.

A late surge by Inglewood could have turned the game on its head.   Healing hit the upright with a deflected free-kick and Brian Woodall’s snap on the turn flash narrowly wide.   Substitute Jamie Murphy stabbed Woodall’s superb pass over the crossbar and Steve Burton just failed to reach Kenny Keogh’s cross
