COHEN ENJOYING LIFE WITH INGLEWOOD

2018_01_27_Inglewood_vs_Floreat_7374A fresh environment and a desire to improve as a player are amongst the reasons why Michael Cohen chose to play with Inglewood United.   But of greater importance to the 19-year old is the opportunity to work with, goalkeeper coach Dave Whalley and experienced shot-stopper Alex Dunn.

“Dave was crucial in my decision to join Inglewood,” Cohen explained.   “I’ve known him for about eight years and for that entire time he’s been a mentor through football.   I feel pretty lucky to be able to learn and develop my game under the guidance of the best goalkeeper coach in West Australia.”

“Dave is always a pleasure to work with and Dunners is the same.   Training is really enjoyable when you’ve got a first team ‘keeper that’s got your back and wants to make you better too.   Between the two of them they have a lot of experience and knowledge to pass on, which will help me improve my game.”

Cohen arrived at Inglewood over the summer having previously played at Subiaco AFC and Bayswater City.   He didn’t have to wait long to make his senior debut, the teenager taking the gloves in January’s Night Series fixture with Floreat Athena after regular number one Dunn was ruled out by injury.

“2018 for me is about improving technically as a player whilst building confidence in my ability,” Cohen commented.   “I’ve been at Inglewood a few months now and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.   I feel like I’m moving towards achieving my goals and being at Inglewood has been a big part of that.”
