Inglewood United congratulates Alex Salmon and Alex Ishida-Livings on gaining selection to represent Western Australian in next week’s Challenge Cup game against Perth Glory. The duo is among a strong 22-player squad selected by State coach Jamie Harnwell for Wednesday’s friendly at Perth Plasterboard Centre Stadium.
Salmon has been keeping defences on high alert this year from the moment first stepped on the park in late March. To date the lively 24-year old has found the back of the net 15 times in 16 appearances, while his creativity has led to countless opportunities for those around him. Salmon has been called up for State duty on two previous occasions, scoring three goals.
Ishida-Livings’ is a true Inglewood success story. The 20-year old joined the club fresh out of high school and having not previously played club football. In the space of three seasons has gone from captaining the Under-20s to being a mainstay of the defence, while his pace down the right provides an important avenue to attack. This is Ishida-Livings’ first State team call-up.
