Inglewood United SC has announced the tour squad to undertake the European Professional Football experience during April this year.
A squad of sixteen players and three officials will participate in the twelve day tour to Valladolid, Spain, where they will play four matches against the Real Valladolid International & U18s teams, also a regional representative team from the Castile and León region.
The match schedule for the tour is:
• 10 April v Real Valladolid International
• 13 April v Castile and León region Team
• 15 April v Real Valladolid International
• 16 April v Real Valladolid Juvenil B
Technical Director Goran Stajic said “the tour was a very important part of the club’s youth development program, which continued to provide a quality representative pathway for our U15s, U16s, U18s NPL players, officials & coaches”.
“The intention is for a tour of this nature to be undertaken every year, which would provide players with something to strive and aim for, ultimately giving them an opportunity to measure themselves against fulltime youth footballers.” added Stajic.
He went on to say “the tour was not just for the players, but would provide experience for the coaches and club officials, who would also participate on the tour”.
The sixteen players selected to undertake the tour comprise of nine U18s players where some have already debut for the clubs U20s, two U16s players and five U15s who are all aiming to represent the clubs seniors in the not too distant future.
Club president Luke Martin and Junior president David Ewen are pleased with the composition of the touring squad, which has a good cross section of Inglewood United youth, players who are on the cusp of U20s selection, together with up and coming talent from the 15s & 16s.
Martin said “it was a great opportunity for the touring party as a group, as it would provide everyone with exposure to professional football, which would be beneficial to their respective developments”
