Inglewood United made it seven National Premier Leagues wins from eight games by dismissing Armadale 5-2 on a wintry afternoon at Inglewood Stadium. Kenny Keogh once again lead the way for Inglewood, the attacker bagging a late double after Brian Woodall, Calum O’Connell and John Migas had put the hosts in a commanding position.
It took just six minutes for Inglewood to open their account, Keogh breaking on the counterattack to deliver a low ball to the far post where Woodall was presented with the simplest of conversions. The home team continued to set the tone but midway through the half, and against the run of play, Dylan White brought Armadale level.
Keogh thought he’d restored Inglewood’s lead only for an offside flag to rule out his close-range effort. Barely another minute had passed when Tim Robertson raced down the right and centre for O’Connell, whose shot from 6-metres bobbled through the legs of goalkeeper Alfie Brincat , putting the hosts back in control.
Woodall exited the game just before the break with a dislocated finger but this did little to stem Inglewood’s momentum. Migas doubled the difference with a tidy side-foot from 12-metres after Keogh’s cross flicked the head of a defender. Goalkeeper Alex Dunn then further frustrated Armadale by producing a fine save to deny Jesse Fuller.
Keogh bundled in his first of the afternoon after Mark Pritchard’s free-kick was nodded back across goal by Scott Blackmore. Migas’ then forced a couple of defenders into conceding possession, the ball spraying to Keogh who made no mistake with only the ‘keeper to beat. The final whistle was just minutes away when White scored Armadale a late consolation.
