Golden Boot winner Chris Jackson will wear Inglewood United colours in 2019 after signing on for the coming National Premier Leagues season. The 24-year old striker, scorer of 30 goals this year for Armadale, is the Clubs’ first signing since last month’s appointment of Trim Morgan as head coach.
“I’m really excited to join Inglewood United,” Jackson commented. “It’s a fresh challenge for me; a new club working with new players in a new environment. I’m really looking forward to working with Trim Morgan, to getting to know my teammates and to bring some long-overdue silverware to the club.”
“I’ve spoken with Trim and his ambition – along with that of the Club – is to win next year; making the Top Four won’t be enough, he wants a clean sweep of all the trophies. I want to win as much as possible so the goal is the treble … and it’d be nice if I can beat my goal tally from this season.
England-born Jackson is coming off a sensational debut with Armadale. He spearheaded the Reds to victory in the State Cup, scored 24 goals in as many games to share the Golden Boot with Daryl Nicol (ECU Joondalup) and, at seasons’ end, represented the State against Perth Glory.
Jackson played in Yorkshire’s non-league prior to relocating to Western Australia in January last year. He started out as a junior with Barlby Rovers and progressed to first team football at Selby Town before switching to Pontefract Collieries in mid-2016. He also enjoyed a brief spell with Goole AFC.
