Inglewood United claimed outright leadership of the National Premier Leagues by demolishing Joondalup United 7-0 on a sunny afternoon at Percy Doyle Reserve.   The host club were never in the contest as Chok Dau and Brian Woodall scored two apiece with singles coming from Ashley Rosindale, substitute Kenny Keogh and Alex Salmon.

The tone of the afternoon was set inside 5 minutes when Scott Blackmore’s searching pass found Dau who raced away from a static defence to tuck low into James Bodset’s net.   Woodall was thwarted by the Joondalup custodian, Salmon dragged wide and Adam Tong somehow headed over as Inglewood stamped their authority over proceedings.

Inglewood delivered the knock-out blow by striking three goals in as many minutes later in the half.   Woodall had little trouble placing into an empty net after Bodset’s miss-hit clearance landed at his feet.   Rosindale arrowed in after dancing along the top of the 18-yard box.   And the home defence was caught napping again as Dau netted when faced by only Bodset.

It wasn’t until just before the hour that Alex Dunn was called into action, the Inglewood custodian diving full-stretch to send Josh Whitmore’s long-range strike wide.   Play swung immediately to the opposite end where Woodall cut past one defender and from a narrow angle classily threaded the ball between Bodset and his near post.

Kenny Keogh honoured his first game in a month by sliding goal number six in at the far post after Alex Salmon held the ball up on the left and played into his path.   The scoreline was made complete when Salmon blasted into the roof of the net from the penalty spot following an accidental kick to the head on Keogh.
