KEOGH ISSUES A WARNING

2017_04_02_Inglewood_vs_Joondalup_United_2721Hat-trick hero Kenny Keogh has sounded an ominous warning to Inglewood United’s rivals by asserting his best is yet to come.   The hard-working attacker signalled his returned from injury last weekend by scoring three memorable goals as Inglewood United demolished Joondalup United 5-2.

That game-defining performance marked Keogh’s return to the starting line-up for the first time since sustaining a hamstring strain six weeks earlier.   And while happy with his weekend efforts, Keogh says there is still work to be done before he fully recovers from injury and is back to peak condition.

“It was good to get some minutes into the legs after getting injured in the first game of the season,” said Keogh, now in his third season with Inglewood.   “I was a bit rusty at times and feel there is a fair way to go before I’m back to being 100% physically and match fit, but I’m working hard to get there.”

Keogh is likely to retain his place in Taki Nicolaidis’ line-up when Inglewood travels to Dorrien Gardens to play Perth SC this weekend.   The teams met on four occasions last year – including Grand Final day – with each game an absolute thriller.   Keogh is tipping another action-packed encounter this weekend.

“You always want to play against the best teams and the record books show that last year Perth were the best in this league,” Keogh said.   “As a result everyone takes their game up a notch and there is a lot of intensity out on the park … it’ll definitely be a big game this weekend.”

“Perth has started the season a bit like us in that they’ve not got the results they’ve wanted.   Our aim is to finish at the top of the ladder and last weekend we showed what we are capable of when everything clicks.   We have the players that can make a difference and we’re confident of another good performance on Saturday.”
