Well-travelled midfielder Cameron Lomax says he felt at home from the first moment he walked through the gates at Inglewood Stadium. Lomax, who has experienced football in Brazil, Portugal, Spain and the Netherlands, became Inglewood United’s third transfer window signing earlier this month, joining goalkeeper Scott Wallis and midfielder Matt Spurling at the club.
“The players, coaches and club officials have been brilliant from day one,” Lomax, 22, commented of his move to Inglewood. “Everybody has been welcoming, keen for a laugh or a chat and, most importantly, ready to get down to work. The club has a professional mindset, they’ve set their standards high and I feel I’ve settled in straight away.”
“I’ve not played in the National Premier Leagues before but I’m open to new experiences and are really looking forward to showing what I can do. I’ll give my all for the club and work as hard as I can to make myself a better player. Inglewood has big expectations for the rest of the season and I hope to help the club achieve them.”
Kalgoorlie-born Lomax was just 14 when he headed to Brazil to hone his skills with Cruzeiro EC, after which he played for Fluminense and America MG. A 2011 move to Portugal took him to Camara de Lobos which was followed by time at Spanish clubs Rioseco, Real Valladolid B and Fundacio Grama. Lomax played the last two seasons with VV Baronie in the Netherlands.
