NEXT FORTNIGHT A TEST OF OUR CHARACTER: ISHIDA-LIVINGS

Young defender Alex Ishida-Livings believes Inglewood United are in the right frame of mind as they prepare for a fortnight that is likely to define their season.   Inglewood travels south on Saturday to play second-from-top Cockburn City and seven days later hosts National Premier Leagues leaders Bayswater City.

Both games are must-win affairs for an Inglewood side seeking to cement their place in the top four.   “Over the past month we’ve been focusing on battling as a unit, fighting for each other, and I believe we’ve shown this out on the pitch,” said 20-year old Ishida-Livings, whose team have won six of their last seven outings.

“We need to build on our current good form by continuing to maintain clean sheets and converting the chances we create.   The team is high on confidence and morale at the moment, and we know we’re more than capable of achieving victory at Cockburn on Saturday and then again a week later against Bayswater.”

“These games will be a real test of our character against two very good opponents.   We can’t accept anything less than three points from both games if we are to close the gap on the teams above us on the ladder and achieve the goal we set at the start of the season, which is to win the league.”
