Inglewood Stadium will host the State League Night Series Final on Sunday when Joondalup United pits skills with Forrestfield United.   The game promises to be an absolute cracker with Forrestfield, reigning Division Two champions, eager to make an early season statement against a Joondalup side that last year placed third in Division One.

There was no stopping Joondalup in the group stage with 14 goals scored, and none conceded, across three the games.   Nick Jennings’ team edged out Western Knights in the quarter-finals before stunning Mandurah City 3-2 last week when veteran Stuart Montgomery bagged a stoppage time winner to compliment Arran Maplestone’s brace.

Goals also flowed freely for Forrestfield early on but in the round of eight they needed a penalty shoot-out to see off Rockingham City.   Shamrock Rovers raced to a two-goal lead in the semi-finals before Forrestfield kicked into gear with defender Mark Barnett cutting the deficit and Ben Rogers netting twice in quick succession to steal victory.

Joondalup face Forrestfield in the State League Night Series Final this Sunday, 13 March (7.30pm), at Inglewood Stadium.   North Perth United and Kingsley open proceedings in the Amateur Night Series Final (5.15pm).   Bar and kitchen facilities are available throughout the night so bring the family along, catch up with friends and enjoy the local game.
