Wood-Boys carve pre-season form into shape with 4 goals
People around the club are wondering what the 2014 season will bring. A revitalised league with a new structure and system in place has left many opinions on polarising sides. There will be some games that do and don’t go Inglewood’s way, but for the U18s a fresh start has been made. If they continue to work hard on the training ground, keep the squad strong and sustain the right direction as pre-season – it will give the Wood-boys an opportunity to be where they want to be in the league table.
The 18’s put themselves on course for victory against Floreat thanks to a brace of goals from Davide Panaia single to Yetemgeta & Aidan Taylor. Highlighted contribution from Yetemgeta, Luka Bukvic, Kia Bako-Kirkpatrick, Paul Zimarino and Travis Preston thought they combined well with the stealthy front man Panaia. Player of the match Leslie Mari has significantly improved in strength and confindence. Mari kept going and getting into advanced goal scoring positions from left back and was nearly vicious enough to score his first IUSC goal.
Inglewood 18’s coach Goran Stajic capitulated after the match “It was a great start for the season but of course we’ve got other targets in mind and again it’s fair to say we will try and do it privately. I think that’s the best way because if it does get in the outer sanctum it does attract other people, it does cause unrest and speculation you don’t want to have. If you can try and do it in the inner sanctum quietly and get it done, then that’s the best way… No Passengers”
This leaves Inglewood still in a strong position early in the table with a clean sheet and a debut win for the National Premier Leagues WA Under 18s league. Next week’s match is Inglewood’s first home game for the season against Sorrento.
