Inglewood United has been deducted three points by Football West for a breach of player eligibility rules in their Round Eight game with Stirling Lions. During the game, played on Saturday 3 May, Inglewood was found to have fielded an unregistered player in its first team squad, who claimed a 4-2 victory on the day.

The club acknowledged that it was its responsibility to ensure that a player participating in a match is eligible to do so. Football West’s Tribunal accepted that the club “acted in good faith and that the offences came about as a result of the club’s negligence rather than due to any wilful act”.

In accordance with the National Premier Leagues eligibility rules, Football West has awarded Stirling a 3-0 victory in respect to this game. The NPL competition ladder has been adjusted as follows –

• Inglewood deducted three points
• Stirling awarded three points
• both clubs’ goal difference adjusted accordingly.

The Tribunal also found player eligibility rule breaches in four Inglewood Reserve team games, against Armadale (12 April), Perth SC (19 April), Fremantle United (21 April) and ECU Joondalup (27 April). Football West has awarded Armadale and Perth a 3-0 victory by way of forfeit, with the penalties for games against Fremantle and Joondalup reduced to $250 fines.
