Inglewood United is pleased to announce Scott Richardson’s appointment to the role of Technical Director for the 2016 National Premier League season. Richardson will oversee the implementation of the Club’s vision and playing philosophy, replacing Goran Stajic who has chosen to move into a coaching role at Inglewood.
Richardson, a UEFA ‘A’ and FFA ‘A’ Licence holder, is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading development coaches. His background is highlighted by a year with the English Football Association’s Centre of Excellence Academy plus time at Scottish clubs Falkirk, Dundee United and Motherwell and with Newcastle United (England). In recent times Richardson has held Technical Director roles with Perth SC and Armadale.
Inglewood President Ces Colli says Richardson’s appointment provides the Club a solid base from which to continue their push toward the top of the NPL. “We are delighted to have Scott Richardson head up our player and coach development structures, which are aligned with Football Federation Australia’s National Curriculum,” Colli said.
“Scott has all the skills and attributes we were looking for in a Technical Director. He has an impressive background in the game and is highly regarded within the football community, both in Australia and internationally. We are looking forward eagerly to seeing the development of our teams and the direction Scott takes us in in 2016.”
“I also thank our inaugural Technical Director Goran Stajic for his tireless work ethic and dedication over the past two years. Goran has put in place a platform and set standards that will benefit the Club for many years to come. Although he has stepped aside from being Technical Director, he remains a key member of the Inglewood family.”
Richardson will work closely with our National Premier Leagues, Development and Mini-Roos coaches to develop them to be able to provide better coaching programs, which underpins how well Inglewood’s players develop and progress. The Clubs’ 2016 National Premier Leagues coaching structure will be revealed next month.
