Summer recruit Ashley Rosindale is edging closer to full fitness and claiming a spot in the starting eleven. Rosindale didn’t play anywhere near as often as he would have liked last year at Perth SC, where the striker was restricted to just a handful of appearances as he struggled with a torn foot ligament.
Following a lengthy break, Rosindale returned to the playing arena a fortnight ago with Inglewood United and is now focused on making up for lost time. “I’m getting stronger, fitter and sharper with every training session,” he said. “And my performances will continue to improve the fitter and more confident I become.”
“I got a good half an hour under my belt against Bayswater City last week and had a fifteen minute run the week before against Cockburn City. Hopefully I can keep increasing my game time and break into the team to play up-front with Brian (Woodall) as I feel there is a good partnership forming with him.”
Taki Nicolaidis has utilised fifteen players across the past fortnight and the depth the coach is developing will feature prominently when Inglewood host Subiaco AFC on Friday. “Subiaco have come a long way since their first season in the National Premier Leagues and are always difficult to play against and breakdown,” said Rosindale.
“We showed against Bayswater that we have strength in depth as we were without Adam Tong, Scott Blackmore and Scott Witschge. We have a few more outs this week so that depth will be important again. It will be a tough game but we have the quality to come away with the win.”
Inglewood pits skills with Subiaco at Inglewood Stadium tonight (8.30pm), with the early game featuring Perth SC and Sorrento (6.30pm). Full bar and kitchen facilities will be available throughout the night so bring the family along, catch up with friends and enjoy the best of local football.
