VALLADOLID OFFER “A DREAM COME TRUE” SAYS EWEN

2015_08_15_Inglewood_v_Armadale_5837Inglewood United midfielder Jaedon Ewen faces the biggest test of his young career in coming weeks as he heads to Europe for trials with Spanish club Real Valladolid.   Ewen, 19, will become the third Inglewood youngster in five months to try his luck with Valladolid when he spends four-weeks with the club later this month.

“I feel very lucky to get this opportunity,” said Ewen, who came to Valladolid’s attention while on tour with Inglewood’s youth team in 2014.   “Not many people get the chance to go to a top club like Valladolid, who have played against big names such as Barcelona and Real Madrid in the La Liga … it’s a dream come true.”

“All I wanted to do as a little kid was to play with a top footballing side.   Now that I have that chance, I have to work hard and adapt to their level.   Valladolid have some very knowledgeable coaches and talented players so I’ll have to keep a strong mindset and learn as much as I can so I’m prepared to take on the challenge.”

Ewen, who played juniors at Quinns and Wanneroo City prior to linking with Inglewood in 2011, has no doubt his experiences at Valladolid will serve him well in 2016.   “My goals this year are to train hard in every session, become a leader and a role model on and off the field and – most importantly – to have fun playing the game I love.”
