Jamie Murphy is confident Inglewood United’s first National Premier Leagues win of 2019 is just around the corner.   And the versatile left-sided player believes his team can go on a winning streak, once they chalk up their first three-point haul.

Inglewood’s fighting spirit shone bright on Saturday when two goals in the final quarter hour were rewarded with a thrilling 4-4 draw at Cockburn City.   As his team prepares to travel to Floreat Athena this weekend, Murphy is optimistic that victory number one is not far away.

“The lads definitely showed some character to pick up a point at Cockburn,” Murphy commented.   “We played the full 90 minutes against Cockburn and the week before against Bayswater City despite the score line being against us.   That shows what type of attitude the boys have this year.”

“Given the way we played on the weekend, we deserved to take the three points.   We were the better team, especially in the second half, and our only downfall was our own mistakes.   As soon as we tighten up those mistakes we will be a very hard team to beat.”

“I believe we’ll get our first win very soon.   Our attitude and our desire as a unit is very good and there’s always a good morale on and off the pitch.   We have all the talent to go out and make a statement on the league and I believe that will start from next week.”
