Kyeson makes the state team!

Inglewood United Football Club junior NPL player Kyeson Barker has qualified for the state team for the second year running, in a huge achievement for the teen.

Kyeson (15) made the Gold Fields U15 Boys state team after a series of qualifying rounds earlier this year.

The centre back plays in the U16’s side at IUFC, a club he first joined as a U8’s player.

“I just love playing, and training,” he said.

“I also train separately to the team on Saturdays and I love practicing ball work.”

Kyeson said he enjoyed playing with his team, one he has been playing with since his early junior days.

“We all go to different schools but we have good chemistry on field,” he said.

“I would love to reach the 1st team at Inglewood.”

IUFC Chair Football Operation Sean Cross said it was incredibly exciting to have Kyeson represent the club.

“Kyeson is a terrific young player with a great attitude,” he said.

“We are so proud for him to represent Inglewood and can’t wait to see what he achieves in both the tournament and over his sporting career.”

This is the second year Kyeson has made the state team, after also qualifying last year. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 he didn’t get to travel over east to compete.

This year’s state tournament will be held in Coffs Harbour from September 20-24. We wish Kyeson all the best!
