SALMON READY TO STRIKE

2017_02_15_Inglewood_Season_Launch_1589Alex Salmon says there’ll be no time for sentiment when he steps out as an Inglewood United player for the first time against his former club, Bayswater City, on Sunday.   England-born Salmon is one of a few select additions Taki Nicolaidis has made to his squad for the 2017 National Premier Leagues season, which kicks off this weekend.

Salmon played for Carlisle United (England) and Alloa Athletic (Scotland) before turning out for Armadale and Bayswater last season, the 22-year old finisher snaring sixteen goals in eighteen appearances for the two clubs.   Refreshed by a break in his homeland, he recently returned to Perth where he’s been getting acquainted with his new teammates.

Inglewood commences their campaign on Sunday night with a home fixture against Bayswater City, an opponent Salmon will be going all out to get the better of.   “I enjoyed my time at Bayswater and it’ll be nice to see everybody,” Salmon commented   “But I’m an Inglewood player now and I’ll be doing everything I can to make sure we start the season with a win on Sunday.”

“My job no matter who the opposition is always the same – to score and set up goals for Inglewood.   Sunday’s game might be the first of the season but the result is important as we want to make a statement and start strongly.   Inglewood went close to winning the league last year and our goal this season is to improve on that and lift a trophy or two.”
