State Call-Up For Inglewood Trio

2014_07_30_Jukic_Clark_Kamara_selected_for_WAInglewood United congratulates Ryan Clarke, Andrija Jukic and Teeboy Kamara on being named in the preliminary State squad for next month’s friendly with Perth Glory. The Inglewood trio are among 25-players selected by State coach Chris Coyne for the annual ‘Call To Arms’ Cup game, which forms an important part of Glory’s preparation for the coming A-League season.

Clarke, 27, has been arguably one of the star performers of the 2014 National Premier Leagues season. His darting runs from out wide are an established part of Inglewood’s artillery, while his knack for finishing moves has reaped 14 goals so far this term. Clarke, who joined Inglewood in 2010, is our second longest-serving current player with 109 appearances and 44 goals.

Jukic, who played two seasons with Glory, has been a key figure in the engine room this year. The 27-year old missed the opening stages of the season due to injury but his combative nature and non-stop contribution make him one of the first names on the team sheet. Jukic, now in his second season with Inglewood, has featured in our past 17 games and captained the team in Greg Sharland’s absence.

Liberia-born Kamara joined Inglewood early in the home and away series after a lengthy spell out of the game. An Australian youth international, Kamara has been the focal point in attack where his creative flair often presents goalscoring to opportunities for those around him. Kamara, who has battled niggling injury for the past month, displays talent and awareness well beyond his 18 years.

The preliminary State squad commences training this evening under the watchful eye of one-time Australia defender Coyne. The date and venue of the ‘Call To Arms’ fixture between the State team and A-League side Glory are yet to be confirmed.
