MORGAN MAKES LEAGUE TITLE THE GOAL

New coach Trim Morgan has outlined his plans to take Inglewood United to the top of the National Premier Leagues.   The former State team captain was appointed head coach last month following a successful three-year stint at Western Knights, who he guided to the Division One and State Cup titles in 2017.

And Morgan, 50, has made clear he intends to bring that same level of success to Inglewood.   “We want to win the league and we want to push in the Cup as well,” Morgan recently told ‘Let’s Talk Football’.   “We want to get to the Cup Final and get Inglewood United on the national stage.”

“The lads did particularly well last year.   I watched a couple of games and thought they played attractive football, were good on the wings and solid at the heart of defence.   I don’t need to change much … add a few players to mix things up a little bit but you don’t want big change going into a new season.”

“For me you need good competition along the backline and in the top three, or whatever system you play.   I’ll be looking to strengthen in each of those areas so we’ve got competition for places, so training is intense and so players want to get their spot and keep their spot in the line-up.”

“We’ll start our pre-season probably in the middle of November with five weeks of three sessions a week of strengthening and conditioning.   That’s to get the players ready for the season as its going to be a massive season for us … we want to be competitive, we want to be at the top and I want to win a title.”
