Inglewood United is pleased to announce the signing of Steve Sokol for the 2019 National Premier Leagues season.   The 24-year old attacker agreed terms with the club last week as coach Trim Morgan puts the finishing touches on a new-look squad for the coming winter.

“I’m really excited to be an Inglewood United player,” commented Sokol, who joins the club following two seasons at neighbourhood rivals Stirling Lions.   “Inglewood is an ambitious club where I believe I can continue to improve and enjoy my football.”

“I know and have played with a few of the boys at the club previously and they told me only good things about Inglewood.   We’ve got a good group of experienced players and also a lot of young talent, I think we will surprise a lot of people this year.”

Singapore-born Sokol played youth team football at ECU Joondalup before heading to the United States of America where he wore University of Southern Indiana colours during the 2013 and 2014 seasons.   On returning to Western Australia he spent two seasons with each Balcatta and Stirling.

The versatile attacker has set himself some modest goals for his first season with Inglewood.   “I want to establish myself as a first team regular and play week-in week-out,” Sokol said.   “Hopefully I’ll be scoring a lot of goals and helping the team win games.”
